Our Business
We are e-commerce platform for used motor-vehicles, trading in over 207 countries and regions worldwide. BE FORWARD.JP gets approximately 60,000,000 monthly pageviews, and is used by people from all around the world. You can feel the influence of our business first-hand during business trips. We continue to extend our strong market in Africa, and are at work expanding further into other regions. We are also at work creating new enterprises using the logistics routes, sales and settlement systems, and international business knowhow we’ve developed up until now.
Occupations
Sales Marketing
You will be in charge of a wide array of tasks involving sales in your designated country or region. This will involve market analysis, creating marketing strategies, handling clients, communicating with our local agents, and much more. You’ll also have the opportunity to go on international business trips two to three times per year on average. Most communication between clients and agents will be conducted in English or the local language. We will select applicants’ designated areas based on the languages they speak, so they can get the most out of their linguistic abilities.
Global Logistics
You will manage our international logistics processes, which deliver the motor-vehicles to the customer. This includes both exports direct from Japan as well as triangular trade. You will work with logistics companies, forwarders, and our local agents to create a logistics network capable of providing fast, cheap, and reliable services. External communications are generally conducted in English. There will also be opportunities to go on international business trips to establish logistics routes.
Global Business
You will develop relationships with used motor-vehicles dealerships from around the world and have them list their inventory on our e-commerce Website. You will also be tasked with the management of listed product sales, meaning it will be crucial that you work together with a variety of our other departments. We also hold events to commemorate dealers that display excellence, among other endeavors to deepen our trust relationships. We also conduct international business trips to conduct field research and more. English ability is a must, and you may get the chance to use any other languages you know depending on the country.
Digital Marketing
You will work on online marketing, content production, making improvements to our e-commerce Website, and more. The work will involve targeting users from all over the globe, meaning you might get the chance to use a variety of languages and cultural knowledge. Depending on the team you’re placed on, you might also go on international business trips for field research and more.

Balance Work with Family and Private Time
Depending on your position and team, you will be asked to come into the office a few times a month, but generally we allow our employees to work remotely.
There’s some overtime involved, but our standard work day is 7 hours, from 9am until 5pm, so you will not always be asked to work long hours. We allow employees to take longer vacations, with many taking 1–2-week long vacations back to their countries.

Work at Be Forward is not unskilled labor; it involves using the knowledge you’ve learned over your life, the experience you’ve gained throughout your career, and the knowledge you have of the culture and language of your home country. Our permanent employees have no employment period. This has allowed some of our employees to obtain 5 year working visas.
Requirements
Basic Japanese Ability
Our common corporate language is Japanese. While our internal systems and communications from our corporate departments include English together with Japanese, not being able to understand any Japanese at all would present communications difficulties. We ask that applicants possess the equivalent of N2 level on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. Please feel free to ask during your interview if you feel uncertain about your proficiency.
Living Within a Commutable Distance
While we allow employees to work remotely, you will also be asked to come into the office at times that will differ between which team you are on or what work you are conducting. This means you will not be able to work from place where you cannot come into our Tokyo office, like regional areas of Japan or abroad. We can our interview online, so we accept applications from people that live far away, but if you accept an offer with us, we will ask that you move to an area you can commute from.
